ASK ABDI: I HAVE SEVERAL “OUT THERE” QUESTIONS FOR YOU.

QUESTION: In the past, I was concerned with disappointing my soul. But now, I am worried that if we as a people don’t start to actively address these wrongs on a large scale, humanity itself might not make it.

For a very long time I played with the idea that we are on this earth to live out our soul’s purpose. Then, I listened to Eckhart Tolle and he spoke about how we are here to help the universe unfold into its fullest potential. With this in mind, and looking at the ancient wisdom of the chakras that states all life rises to reach its potential, then doesn't this mean that no matter what, the universe must always continue to rise?

My questions:

1. Is there a limit to how much “lower vibrational energy” the universe can hold?

2. Assuming the universe is everything and that Earth and humans are just one small fraction of it: is it possible that humans may be keeping the universe from reaching its potential?

3. Are you at all concerned that humanity may not make it? That the universe will evolve with or without us? This makes me incredibly sad.

Thanks so much for all your wisdom, heart, and kindness. You are one with high vibration and shining brightly.

ANSWER: You are watching a movie and asking detailed questions about the plot twists. It would be wise at this juncture to question the whole thing. What am I observing? More importantly, who is the “I” that is doing the observing? It is vital to question the movie as well as the questions pertaining to it. Even more wise to step out of the theatre when the mind gets too wrapped up in such things.

Let’s quickly break down this movie we are all actors in as well as observing. The light in the projector that illuminates the movie is Source/the Divine/Atman. That is our true nature. The film (which is a culmination of karma/vasana [bodymind tendencies, etc.]) which we falsely and collectively identify with as “I”, is what the “light” projects onto this universal realm which itself is also Source. This is put succinctly in Shiva Sutra: “Self (appears to be) the Dancer (doer/actor/“I” in the mind). True Self is the stage (non-doer witness/pure consciousness).”

Observing and examining of the dream while asleep is certainly interesting. Realizing what is keeping us asleep while in a lucid dream is a more productive exercise to step out of the illusion of separation.

Here’s a challenge for you: spend as much time in silence as you do reading and investigating all these topics. Remember from your own experience that every question answered leads to more questions. There will never be any respite nor peace until one learns to become internally still.

I’ll leave you with the words of Seng-Ts’an:
“The more you talk and think about it,
the further astray you wander from the truth.
Stop talking and thinking,
and there is nothing you will not be able to know.”
